AC Milan will have a major void to fill in the squad this summer, and four potential transfer targets have been put forward as a solution.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Olivier Giroud is set to leave the Rossoneri this summer as his contract will expire, and so the French stalwart’s departure will leave us without a striker to lead the line next season.

While the expectation is that Stefano Pioli will move on at the end of the campaign too, it remains to be seen who comes in to replace him, and it would undoubtedly make sense for the process of signing our new No.9 to involve his successor.
That in turn would ensure that he fits the ideas and style of play that will be implemented moving forward, and in turn we’ll hope to have an effective and consistent attacking line-up that can produce quality and a decisiveness in the final third.
According to Antonio Vitiello, four names are under consideration by the club, leading with Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, with the suggestion that contact between the two clubs is ongoing.
Time will tell if an agreement can be reached for the 22-year-old Dutchman, but with 12 goals and seven assists in 36 appearances so far this season, he has certainly emerged as one of the top young talents in Serie A and arguably holds the advantage as a result of that aspect.
Meanwhile, it’s added that Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Santiago Gimenez are also on the Milan radar, with that trio also enjoying productive campaigns across Europe.
Gyokeres, 25, has bagged 41 goals and 15 assists in 47 appearances for Sporting, while Sesko, 20, has 16 goals and two assists in 40 outings. As for Gimenez, the 23-year-old has scored 26 goals and provided eight assists in 41 games for Feyenoord this season.
It’s an intriguing list with players who have impressed this past year, and Milan are certainly in need of fresh legs up front to spearhead our attack, both through their goals but also their ability to link things together.
As noted above, much should ultimately also depend on who is the best fit for our new coach, and given the lack of alternative options and quality in that area of the squad, it’s a signing that the Milan hierarchy can’t get wrong, as any of the options noted above will cost a significant transfer fee.
