AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Goncalo Ramos.
The 25-year-old bagged 41 goals and 12 assists in 106 appearances at senior level for Benfica before joining the French giants in 2024, and he has since gone on to score 45 goals and provide 10 assists in 131 outings for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
Ramos has also impressed at international level having scored 10 goals in 26 caps for Portugal, and he’ll be looking to add to that tally at the World Cup in the coming days and weeks.
However, it appears as though he is set for a new chapter in his club career, as Antonio Vitiello reports that Milan have reached an agreement on a deal with PSG to sign him, with the move set to be worth €65m plus €5m in bonuses.
That in turn makes the Portuguese international the most expensive signing in the history of the club, and so there will be huge expectations on his shoulders now to give us a prolific presence up front.
It remains to be seen what happens in terms of outgoings this summer as Milan do have options in attack already, but Ruben Amorim is seemingly now starting to make his mark on the squad and mould it into his own by starting with a new frontman to lead the line for us.
Further, it’s an ambitious move from the club hierarchy and hopefully it’s a sign that they are willing to spend significantly this summer to improve the squad having fallen short of our objectives last season in disappointing fashion, but naturally there is an expectation that signings will be balanced with sales too.
Nevertheless, it looks as though Amorim will be backed ahead of his first season in charge, and it was always imperative that he was given the tools needed to implement his preferred system, style of play and identity moving forward.
Should the Ramos deal now be officially confirmed in the coming days, it’s an exciting addition to the Milan squad and it’s hoped that he can add plenty of goals in the coming years to give us a prolific striker that we’ve sorely missed for some time.
