AC Milan have reportedly held discussions with both Francesco Camarda and Christian Comotto over contract renewals, but Mattia Liberali will not be rejoining the club.
It’s been a busy start to the summer for the Rossoneri, as following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as our new coach, the Portuguese tactician is hard at work trying to mould the squad into his own.
Goncalo Ramos has already arrived from Paris Saint-Germain to bolster our attack, and further reinforcements are certainly expected to arrive between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

However, one of the more intriguing aspects of Amorim’s start to life at Milan has been the apparent push to integrate and promote youth players, be it current prospects already at the club or those who have moved on but Milan hold the option to re-sign.
According to Antonio Vitiello, a meeting took place on Wednesday between Milan officials and the representatives of both Camarda and Comotto, and it’s said that contract renewals could be in line for the talented young duo.
Both of their current deals are set to expire in 2028, and although Amorim will likely evaluate them over pre-season to determine whether or not they will form part of his plans moving forward, the club may well look to protect our position sooner rather than later when it comes to their respective futures.
While that’s a positive development in terms of giving our homegrown players a chance to impress, the news wasn’t so good when it comes to Liberali, who is expected to join Como and snub a return to Milan.
As per Fabrizio Romano, a deal has now been agreed worth €6m, and despite Milan having the option to re-sign him for €3m and with reports suggesting that the club made a serious effort to try and convince him to re-join us, it appears as though past issues have prevented it from materialising.
That will be a blow for Amorim as it had been reported that the Milan boss was eager to bring Liberali back, but evidently after not getting the opportunity to impress last time round before being sold to Catanzaro, the 19-year-old has opted for a fresh start at Como.
Time will tell how that impacts our transfer window in terms of who we switch our attention to, but it’s a very disappointing development as the youngster looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
