Who is Warren Bondo? Analysis of AC Milan transfer target

AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement with Nancy starlet Warren Bondo, but who is the 17-year-old French U17s international?

As per MilanNews, an agreement has been reached on personal terms with the youngster, who is expected to green light a three-year deal, which can be extended to five when he turns 18.

It’s added though that a deal hasn’t been signed off between the two clubs as of yet, and so it remains to be seen if that particularly important obstacle is overcome.

That said, with Bondo seemingly edging closer to a move to join the Rossoneri, what has the club seen to warrant making their move for the relatively unknown youngster?

Stats, profile and style of play of Milan target Bondo

Bondo, 17, has come through the youth ranks at Nancy, while he has been capped at U16 and U17s level for France.

The starlet has made just 14 appearances at senior level for his club, totalling 488 minutes of playing time in their Ligue 2 and Coupe de France campaigns, and so Milan will have had a close look at him in those outings along with his progression at youth level.

Predominantly used on the right side of midfield, he can be deployed on the opposite flank too while drifting more centrally, and so perhaps that versatility will become useful as he eventually tries to break into the senior squad at Milan, should a move materialise this summer.

Naturally, given his inexperience and the raw nature of his talent at such an early stage of his career, he likely won’t be expected to make an immediate impact, but such is the quality and potential that he possesses, Milan are seemingly confident that he can grow, mature and develop into a top player.

As seen in the video below, Bondo is physically strong, composed and comfortable in possession and has good technical quality to take players on and find the right pass.

If those specific attributes can be developed, he could be a talent to keep an eye on moving forward, as he offers something a little more direct and a presence on the field.

Given he is still untested at the top level, there will be question marks and raised eyebrows, but ultimately Milan have seen enough to be convinced he has the potential to be a decent player moving forward and time will tell just how good he will be.
