AC Milan confirmed the permanent signing of Sandro Tonali this week, with the Italian midfielder signing a contract until 2026.
As per the club’s official site, the 21-year-old has secured a permanent move after spending last season with us on loan, with a long-term deal being agreed between the two parties.

Tonali made 37 appearances last year, more than expected by many, with Ismael Bennacer’s injury troubles offering more opportunities to impress.
While it was a steady debut campaign in which he settled into the squad, he will no doubt hope to now kick on and become a pivotal figure for Milan moving forward.
Tonali must now fulfil potential at Milan
After all the hype and comparisons with Andrea Pirlo early in his career, Tonali is now continuing his development with the Rossoneri to hopefully one day fulfil his potential.
There is a long way to go in that process, but with Franck Kessie and Bennacer filling the two deeper-lying midfield roles when fit and at Stefano Pioli’s disposal, that should take the pressure off Tonali and allow him to make the progress needed at a steady pace.
Having secured a return to the Champions League this season, Milan need depth and the ability to rotate in order to compete on multiple fronts, and so there is no doubt that Tonali will get opportunities in the side whether that’s domestically, in Europe, or both.
It’s important that, along with the coaching staff, he continues to learn the role expected of him and flourishes, while also having the confidence to express himself and to showcase his undeniable talent.
Milan have put faith in Tonali to be a key part of our future, and the midfielder evidently wanted to be with us moving forward having taken a salary cut to push through a move. Now it’s vital that he reaches the heights expected of him to help us enjoy a successful future as everything is in place for that to happen.
