Sky: Milan look to close Tonali, Brahim Diaz deals as Bakayoko and Odriozola eyed

AC Milan are reportedly looking to close deals for Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz, while Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Odriozola could arrive this summer.

The Rossoneri are busy preparing for the new campaign as we look forward to a return to the Champions League, while also trying to kick on and compete for the Scudetto this season too.

In order to do that, Stefano Pioli will hope to add further reinforcements to his squad in the coming weeks to follow up the acquisitions of Mike Maignan and Fikayo Tomori so far this summer.

Tonali and Diaz deals

According to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Tonali and Diaz could be next to be secured as it’s suggested that a deal is practically done for the latter, while Milan will try to close the deal with Brescia for Tonali when they meet club president Massimo Cellino for a face-to-face meeting on Thursday.

Bakayoko, Odriozola firm Milan transfer targets

Further, he adds that Bakayoko is moving closer to a return to Milan as he has rejected a renewal offer from Chelsea and is waiting for the Rossoneri to make their move, albeit it would likely only be on a loan for next season.

While that would add depth in midfield, Odriozola has emerged as a target to bolster our options at right-back and it’s reported that the Real Madrid defender could now be a more likely solution ahead of Diogo Dalot, who remains a complicated option given the difficulty of prising him away from Man Utd.

For this week at least, if Milan can wrap up the signings of Tonali and Diaz that would represent progress in this summer’s transfer window as it would bring back all the key individuals from last season who were with us on loan.

That in turn should then give us the solid foundation on which to add quality on top of that, and if that’s in the form of Bakayoko and Odriozola, then Pioli will surely be pleased with that given their experience and pedigree of playing at the highest level.

With the European Championship becoming less of a distraction for players when it comes to their respective club futures, expect business to begin to ramp up in the coming weeks.
