AC Milan boss Sergio Conceicao shared his delight after leading his side to an Italian Super Cup triumph over Inter on Monday night.
The Rossoneri fought back from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 win, with our winner coming in injury time to spark wild scenes of celebration in Riyadh.

Having seen off Juventus to reach the showpiece event, it’s two wins in two for Conceicao since he was appointed last week, while he has already lifted his first trophy for the club.
Naturally, the Portuguese tactician was delighted after the game, as it can’t have been easy for him to walk into the situation he found at Milan, and not only that, but to prepare the team in a matter of days to produce these two performances takes a lot of hard work and great coaching ability.
Conceicao though was keen to stress the importance of this merely being the start of his work, as although he and the squad will enjoy this success, our focus will quickly switch to Cagliari on Saturday as we resume Serie A action.
“We are all happy with the hard work we have done,’ he told MilanTV, as quoted by MilanNews. ‘There were only a few days to prepare, but things went well because the lads were humble and played with the right mentality. This is just the beginning, we must continue on this path. From tomorrow, however, we will immediately think about Cagliari. It is a success that gives confidence to the whole group and the environment. We will leave everything on the pitch in every match.
“The credit goes to everyone, I found people who want to win and who work well. We must continue like this. The taste of victory must give us even more desire to win, no relaxation.
“I’m very satisfied. At half-time we changed a couple of things. We took two hits at the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second, but the team showed great character.
“Tomorrow we’ll start thinking about Cagliari. Milan’s place is not seventh or eighth, but among the top, also demonstrating our strength in the Champions League.”
After an underwhelming and inconsistent start to the season, this is exactly the spark and lift that all concerned at Milan needed, and it’s hoped that it can now act as the catalyst to get our campaign going.
Nevertheless, Conceicao and the group deserve plenty of credit for producing two memorable results and in securing silverware, as Milan showed incredible heart, character and desire to fight for victory, against sides with real quality and a settled coaching set-up to give them a significant advantage.
That said, Conceicao will now get the chance to work with the group for a few more days before our next game, and it’s hoped that he can continue to get his ideas across to ensure we develop and evolve into the side with the playing style that he wants to implement, as that will be key to long-term and sustainable success.
