AC Milan have officially announced the signing of Pietro Pellegri from Monaco on an initial loan with an option to buy.
The Rossoneri added Olivier Giroud earlier this summer to bolster our attacking options with Zlatan Ibrahimovic our only real option up front.

However, given that pair have a combined age of 73, Milan needed a third option as back-up to not only provide cover in the event of injuries but to also learn from the duo and emerge as a long-term solution too.
While there were arguably countless options that fit the bill, Milan have shown faith in Pellegri to fill that role, with the club’s official site confirming the deal to bring him to San Siro.
It’s added that the option will become an obligation to buy if certain conditions that have been agreed between the two clubs are met, while Pellegri will wear the No.64 shirt this season.
Time will tell if he does enough to earn a permanent switch, as although he was touted as a major talent while at Genoa, injuries and a lack of playing time have since stunted his career as he has to prove himself again in Italy.
It’s a huge opportunity for him, one that he will no doubt be delighted to have secured and will relish this season, but he must produce when involved and there will likely be chances to play as Milan look to compete on multiple fronts this season with Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League all on our agenda.
