Olivier Giroud is reportedly expected in Italy on Thursday as he will undergo his AC Milan medical on Friday to complete his move.
The 34-year-old was part of the France squad at EURO 2020, and so he has undoubtedly taken an opportunity for a break following their exit from the tournament.

However, as per MilanNews, he will arrive in Italy on Thursday and undergo his medical and sign his contract on Friday to seal his move to the Rossoneri.
It’s noted that all elements of the transfer are now agreed, and so it’s hoped that everything goes through as expected later this week to ensure that Giroud will become the latest Milan signing this summer.
Given our lack of quality depth and competition up front, it was important that the club addressed the issue ahead of the upcoming campaign and strengthened Stefano Pioli’s options in that department.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed 17 games in Serie A last season due to injury, and so an alternative option to the Swede, but one also capable of taking on the responsibility of leading the line especially in the Champions League, was needed this summer.
Giroud ticks all the right boxes in that regard, and while it could be argued that Milan still need more talent and a younger option in that role too, the Frenchman will no doubt be an important addition to the squad as we try to compete on multiple fronts moving forward.
