How much will Milan make from new shirt sponsorship deal with Wefox?

AC Milan have announced a new sponsorship deal with Wefox, who will be the club’s first ever back-of-shirt partner.

As per the club’s official site, the agreement has been confirmed and the result of that deal is that Wefox’s logo will be featured on the back of the men’s match kit moving forward underneath where the player’s number is displayed.

It’s an important step for the Rossoneri as although that will now be three sponsors on the shirt in addition to the manufacturer Puma, it continues to monetise that aspect of the business and ultimately it’s another source of revenue that benefits the club in the bigger picture.

So, how much is the Wefox sponsorship worth? And what is the total revenue generated by Milan’s match kit?

As reported by MilanNews, via Calcio e Finanza, it’s suggested that this agreement between Milan and Wefox will bring in around €6-8m for the Rossoneri. In turn, combined with the other deals in place on the club’s shirt, its value now stands at around €39m in total.

That includes Emirates (€14m), Puma (€13m), Bitmex (€5m) and Wefox (€7m).

As noted above, although it’s a break away from tradition as the commercialisation of football continues to grow, it’s a sign of Milan moving with the times and cashing in to raise as much revenue as possible. Ultimately, while it may well be the way things are going for clubs across the board, it’s smart business sense for us in the current climate.
