AC Milan are set to complete the signing of Sandro Tonali on a permanent basis from Brescia, and could do so for less than initially agreed.
The Rossoneri signed the 21-year-old last summer on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, albeit it was always assumed that we would sign him outright.

Having secured a return to the Champions League and subsequently picked up the financial boost that comes with qualification for Europe’s premier competition, it will undoubtedly lead to an easier transfer window with less restrictions.
Securing players who helped us get there will be the priority, and as per MilanNews, via the paper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tonali will be staying on for the long-term future.
It’s suggested that talks are in the closing stages as a deal is set to be agreed, while Milan are expected to pay €10m less than initially agreed, with the transfer set at €35m in total last summer.
In turn, that’s more positive work from Paolo Maldini and the hierarchy to ensure that our spending is controlled and reduced where possible while still securing the players we want for a long-term plan.
Tonali made 37 appearances for us across all competitions last season, and although he struggled to find his best form, he played an important role as Ismael Bennacer struggled with injuries throughout the campaign.
As the Rossoneri look to now compete at the top level across multiple fronts, we’ll need Tonali to continue to push Bennacer and Franck Kessie in those deep-lying midfield roles, and so completing his permanent signing will be an important move in the coming weeks.
It was a frustrating campaign for him as he couldn’t really get going despite plenty of opportunities, but at 21 years of age and with so much talent, there is still time to see the best of Tonali in a Milan shirt moving forward and so it’s hoped a deal is wrapped up soon.
