Proposal touted as Milan set sights on priority transfer target

AC Milan have reportedly submitted a proposal to Manchester United for the signing of Marcus Rashford on an initial loan deal.

The 27-year-old is expected to leave the Red Devils this month having spent the entirety of his career at Old Trafford thus far, as he looks for a new challenge following a difficult 18 months or so.

Rashford has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances so far this season, but it’s a far cry from his form in the 2022/23 campaign as he has also had issues off the pitch which has seemingly led to the desire to move elsewhere.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have now put forward a proposal which is based on an initial loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy included.

It’s added that Rashford is the Rossoneri’s top target to bolster our attacking options, but it remains to be seen if the two clubs reach an agreement or not, with Borussia Dortmund also said to be interested in the England international and likely to provide stiff competition.

In turn, time will tell if a deal can be done, but it seems as though Milan are looking to not only give Sergio Conceicao another key option in the final third, but also to give Rashford the opportunity to get his stalling career back on track in a fresh environment.

Given how the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have fared since they joined us, it could be a sensible move for the Man Utd forward, but it remains to be seen if the clubs can agree on a switch, and if personal terms can be agreed too as Rashford’s wages have been mentioned as being a potential issue previously.

Should he arrive though and if he can rediscover his best form, he is certainly capable of adding pace, creativity and a goal threat for Milan, who may well look to move others on in order to make space in the squad, as we have many options already in that department with the likes of Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze perhaps most at risk as Conceicao looks to stamp his mark on the squad.
