AC Milan and Napoli will reportedly hold further talks on Monday over the transfer of midfielder Yunus Musah.
The 22-year-old arrived in 2023 and has since gone on to make 80 appearances for the club, but although his energy and tenacity were strong points when he featured, there wasn’t enough quality to go with it on a consistent basis to entirely convince.

While it had been hoped that he might get a fresh chance under Massimiliano Allegri as his game could suit what the Milan boss will be looking to implement and build, it doesn’t appear as though that will be the case this summer.
According to Daniele Longo, Milan will continue talks with Napoli on Monday to close a deal to sell the USA international, and it’s suggested that the deal might be worth around €27m in total.
It remains to be seen if the two clubs can finalise an agreement on those terms or not, but it certainly appears as though Musah could be gone before the squad reports back for pre-season early next month.
Coupled with the exit of Tijjani Reijnders already this summer, Milan are undergoing a rebuild in midfield, and it’s hoped that those coming in to replace our outgoings are not only talented enough to make a positive impact, but are also better suited to Allegri’s demands to ensure he’s able to successfully implement his ideas, identity and style of play.
In order to help the Italian tactician do that, Milan are evidently keen to raise significant funds to bring the right players in, and that has resulted in several key individuals being linked with an exit this summer in order to make way for incomings.
Musah could be the next to go if talks on Monday are productive, but the fact that Antonio Conte considers him an important addition to his Scudetto-winning squad could perhaps raise alarm bells for some Milan fans that we ultimately haven’t been able to maximise what the midfielder can offer and at 22 years of age, he still has so much improvement and development to come.
