Agent of Milan ace continuing to work on finding exit solution

The agent of AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez is reportedly still trying to find a way to restart talks with Atletico Madrid.

With just 12 months remaining on his current contract with the Rossoneri, the 27-year-old left-back has been heavily linked with an exit this summer as the club look to avoid losing him for nothing in a year’s time.

It had looked as though a move to Atletico Madrid was on course to materialise, but talks between the two clubs broke down on Thursday and threatened to derail our plans to sell him this summer altogether.

Although Hernandez has played a fundamental role in the Milan XI since arriving in 2019, his contract situation has led to major doubts being raised over his future with us with no progress being made in renewal talks, while a poor season last year certainly didn’t do much to convince the club to offer him new terms.

In turn, an exit seems like the best solution for all concerned, and according to MilanNews, the French international’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, is still trying to find a way to repair the damage done in negotiations and get the two clubs back to the table to make a move happen.

Time will tell if he’s able to do so or not, but it’s hard to see a way back from this where Hernandez becomes a key figure in Massimiliano Allegri’s rebuild plans, and so if it’s not to Atleti, time will tell if an alternative option emerges for him to move on in the coming weeks.

It’s noted in the report that Al Hilal and Milan had agreed on a deal for the Frenchman, but a move to the Gulf state didn’t appeal to him at this stage of his career, hence the emergence of Atleti as a more likely destination.

However, with those talks seemingly firmly off for now, it remains to be seen if Hernandez’s agent is able to not only get both sides discussing a deal again, but also to help them to find a compromise too that allows for a transfer to materialise this summer as that was evidently the major sticking point which led to the breakdown of talks this week.
