Milan set to receive financial boost from ex-star’s latest transfer

AC Milan are set to receive a small windfall as former midfielder Sandro Tonali is expected to join Tottenham in a big-money deal.

The 26-year-old left us to join Newcastle United in 2023 in a switch said to be worth £55m, as per BBC Sport, in what was a major blow given how influential he was in our midfield.

However, it was a significant transfer fee which ultimately the club felt as though they couldn’t refuse, and now as he prepares for a new challenge next season, it’s reported that Milan are set to benefit from this latest sale too.

According to MilanNews, Tonali is set to join Tottenham for a whopping €116m, and as per the terms of his sale by the Rossoneri, we will receive a 10 percent share of the profit plus a solidarity contribution.

In turn, it’s noted that we will receive around €10m in total, and albeit it’s a small figure in today’s transfer market, it’s a financial boost that will hopefully help to continue to fund Ruben Amorim’s rebuild this summer.

Milan have already spent big on Goncalo Ramos to bolster our attack, but further reinforcements are undoubtedly going to follow in the coming weeks and months as the Portuguese tactician looks to stamp his mark on the squad.

It’s unclear what the transfer budget is and sales are likely to help balance the books, but getting this unexpected financial boost will surely result in it being reinvested into the squad and hopefully helps to make us a more competitive side heading into the new campaign.

This summer will be absolutely critical in that process, and hopefully we spend sensibly on any additional new signings.
