AC Milan transfer target Samuele Ricci will reportedly undergo his medical ahead of his move to join us in the coming days.
As per Fabrizio Romano this past weekend, the Rossoneri reached an agreement with Torino to sign the midfielder in a deal worth €23m plus €2m in add-ons, with the expectation that the move would be finalised this week.

It’s an important addition to the Milan squad as it allows Massimiliano Allegri to rebuild his midfield to suit his ideas and style of play, with Ricci hopefully giving us control and presence in both phases of the game to help dictate games on a more consistent basis.
With the squad set to return for pre-season training later this week, the sooner we can get new signings through the door and joining up with their new teammates at Milanello the better, as it will give them plenty of time to adapt, integrate and settle ahead of the new campaign.
In turn, it’s positive to hear from Matteo Moretto that Ricci is expected to undergo his medical in midweek, and so hopefully we see confirmation of that in the next 48 hours.
Given this swoop, coupled with the expectation that we’ll sign Luka Modric on a free transfer this summer too, the Milan midfield has emerged as a top priority for sporting director Igli Tare and Allegri, as we mould this squad to suit the needs of the new boss.
Our midfield options last season failed to dominate games on a consistent basis despite the best efforts of Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana, and so it was clear that changes were needed in that department to ensure that we improve on what was a bitterly disappointing campaign.
Ricci and Modric will certainly help with that, assuming that both deals go through, while it’s sensible transfer planning from Milan too as we bring in both a short-term and long-term solution in that area of the squad, especially after Reijnders’ departure left a glaring void in the heart of the side following his move to Manchester City earlier this month.
