AC Milan are reportedly keen to sign another striker in addition to Alvaro Morata this summer, and Borussia Dortmund forward Niclas Fullkrug has emerged as an option.
The 31-year-old joined Dortmund last summer after spells at various German clubs prior, and he bagged 15 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances last season in an impressive campaign.

Further, he has 13 goals in 21 caps for Germany as he has established himself as a key figure for club and country, and it appears as though his form has attracted the interest of the Rossoneri.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan want to add another striker to Paulo Fonseca’s squad this summer in addition to the expected arrival of Morata, and Fullkrug has emerged as our top target to provide more firepower and depth alongside Luka Jokic.
The report notes that Milan have made contact with the player’s representatives and he is said to be open to the move to join us, but Dortmund value him at €15m, and so now Milan must decide whether or not they are willing to meet those demands and reach an agreement on a fee with the Bundesliga giants to green light the move.
Given the profile of the forwards that we’re being linked with, it’s indicating the way in which Fonseca wants us to play will rely on a focal point and physical presence up front leading the line and perhaps others playing around them with width down the flanks to get crosses in.
If that is the case, then Fullkrug could be an important signing to add more of an attacking threat inside the box, and he could prove to be a sensible acquisition to address a glaring issue this summer.
However, time will tell if Milan are prepared to spend that much on him, or if they believe there is better value for money elsewhere if they have alternatives in mind, but what is clear is that particularly following the departure of Olivier Giroud earlier this summer, the priority for the club is bolstering our attacking options and ensuring we’ve got enough up top to lead our charge this season and beyond.
Further, based on the targets being touted, it doesn’t look like the Rossoneri are prepared to leave it to chance either by showing faith in a young prospect, with both Morata and Fullkrug vastly experienced and proven at this stage of their respective careers.
