AC Milan are set to complete the signing of defender Mario Gila in the coming days, as he has arrived in Milan to finalise his transfer.
The 25-year-old is set to become the Rossoneri’s second summer signing after the arrival of Goncalo Ramos last month, and similarly to the Portuguese striker, the Spaniard will be a crucial addition for new boss Ruben Amorim.
Importantly, the club have moved quickly to start bringing in reinforcements to give them as much time as possible over pre-season to settle in and adapt, and it seemingly won’t be long before Gila is part of the squad.

As per Antonio Vitiello, he arrived in Milan on Thursday night, and Fabrizio Romano adds that he will sign his contract, undergo his medical and complete all the formalities of his transfer, in a deal said to be worth €30m in total.
Gila came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid before joining Lazio in 2022, and he has since gone on to make 120 appearances for our Serie A rivals.
In turn, having gained plenty of experience playing in Italy already, it’s hoped that his adaptation will be quick and he’ll prove to be a great fit for what Amorim is trying to implement, with Milan backing the Portuguese tactician in the transfer market so far as he looks to stamp his mark on the squad that he inherited from Massimilano Allegri.
It will be interesting to see what his arrival means in terms of any possible exits as Amorim looks to find the right balance and personnel in his backline over pre-season, and with so many options available to him as things stand, he could choose to whittle that down, balance our spending with sales and in turn perhaps add more funds for further reinforcements.
For now though, it’s hoped that Gila completes all the remaining aspects of his move without any issues, and goes on to then become a pivotal figure in our defensive line for years to come.
