AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement with defender Mario Gila on personal terms, and will now look to wrap up a deal with Lazio to seal the signing.
The 25-year-old joined Lazio from Real Madrid in 2022, and he has since gone on to make 120 appearances for the club having firmly established himself as a key figure in their backline.
With the Rossoneri said to be in the market for defensive reinforcements this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to build a solid defence as a foundation to build on, it appears as though Gila could arrive to provide him with a solution.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan have already agreed personal terms with the Spaniard, as he is expected to sign a five-year deal worth €5m per year.
However, it’s added that an agreement hasn’t yet been reached between Milan and Lazio, but the Rossoneri are confident about closing the deal with an offer of €25m plus €5m in add-ons as we are said to now be in pole position to land his signature ahead of Napoli.
Further, Fabrizio Romano reports that Amorim was involved in direct talks with Gila, and so the new Milan boss is not only clear on who are his preferred transfer targets as he looks to mould the squad into his own, but he is seemingly taking on a key role in recruitment this summer by speaking with players himself.
While it remains to be seen if the deal officially goes through next week, in addition to the signing of Goncalo Ramos, Milan are set to add key new players at either end of the pitch, with further additions expected as well as exits to help balance our books over the course of the transfer window.
It’s been reassuring to see us move swiftly and decisively for priority targets thus far though, and with Amorim looking to implement his own ideas, style of play and identity after replacing Massimiliano Allegri, it was always going to be critical to the project that he was backed by the club hierarchy in bringing in his preferred options in the early part of the summer with our pre-season schedule ahead.
