AC Milan have reportedly agreed a deal with Lazio to sign defender Mario Gila with personal terms already agreed with the player.
The Rossoneri have already splashed out on bolstering our attacking options this summer with the signing of Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, and now Ruben Amorim is seemingly close to bringing in a defensive reinforcement too.
Gila, 25, has established himself as a key figure for Lazio since joining the club in 2022, and he has evidently caught the eye of the new Milan boss in terms of being a great fit for what he is looking to implement at the club moving forward.

According to Antonio Vitiello, Milan have now reached an agreement with Lazio over a transfer fee having already agreed personal terms with the Spaniard on a five-year contract, while Fabrizio Romano has added that Real Madrid are set to receive 50 percent of the transfer fee due to a sell-on clause in their deal with the Biancocelesti, with the switch said to be worth €30m in total.
Given Milan’s questionable recruitment in recent years, it’s hoped that we’ve started the summer transfer window this year with two sensible acquisitions that will not only suit Amorim’s plans, but also add quality and raise the level of the current group.
It was always going to be imperative that the Milan hierarchy backed Amorim in the transfer market to provide him with the players he needed in order to mould the squad that he inherited into his own, and so hopefully the arrivals of Ramos and Gila allow the Portuguese tactician to do just that.
That said, much more business is expected in the coming weeks and months, both in terms of incomings and outgoings, and so it will be fascinating to see this squad evolve and of course improve, as we look to put a disappointing campaign last year behind us and start this new cycle in positive fashion.
