AC Milan are reportedly pushing to complete the signing of Lazio defender Mario Gila within the next 48 hours in a deal worth €30m.
The 25-year-old has established himself as a key figure for the Biancocelesti since joining them in 2022, as he’s gone on to make 120 appearances for the club and cement his place in their backline.
With the Rossoneri seemingly prioritising that area of the squad this summer after signing Goncalo Ramos last month to bolster our attack, speculation is rife that we are closing in on an agreement with Lazio, while personal terms have already been sorted.

According to MilanNews, the club are now pushing and aiming to get the deal done for the Spaniard between Monday and Tuesday, and it’s added that the total fee is likely to be €30m.
Further, the report says Gila will put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth €4.5m, and so the expectation is that we will wrap up our second signing of the summer transfer window in the coming days.
Should that materialise, it’s excellent news as far as Ruben Amorim stamping his mark on the squad is concerned, as he will have added two reinforcements to the group that suit his ideas and plans for the team before even holding his first training session since taking the job as he’s set to arrive in Milan on Monday.
It was imperative that the club backed him in the transfer market to bring in his preferred options, and so hopefully both Ramos and Gil, the former perhaps further down the line given his ongoing involvement at the World Cup, will prove to be smart acquisitions who help us in this new cycle.
As per reports, Amorim has been heavily involved in talks with transfer targets thus far, and so he’ll likely be delighted if we can get this one over the line, with further incomings and outgoings expected in the coming weeks and months to continue to mould the group into his own and hopefully make us increasingly competitive moving forward.
