AC Milan have reportedly agreed a deal with Como over the transfer of defender Malick Thiaw, but the move is now subject to the centre-half agreeing personal terms.
The 23-year-old joined us from Schalke in 2022, and he has since gone on to make 85 appearances for the club, providing us with a key option in defence over the past few seasons.

However, it appears as though he doesn’t fit into Massimiliano Allegri’s plans moving forward, as Milan are said to be open to allowing him to move on this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri have agreed a package worth €25m to sell Thiaw to Como, and now it will come down to whether or not he can agree on personal terms with the Serie A side in order to complete his switch.
Albeit Como have an ambitious project in place and have an exciting young coach in Cesc Fabregas leading their progression after a positive campaign last year, it remains to be seen if they match what Thiaw is open to leaving for, and so it would seem premature at this stage to suggest that his time at Milan is coming to an end imminently.
What is clear is that Allegri prefers to move him on and bring in his own preferred option to shore up our backline, while it remains to be seen if this will be the only departure in that area of the squad, with Strahinja Pavlovic, Matteo Gabbia and Fikayo Tomori still available to the Milan boss to operate in the centre-half positions.
It will be disappointing if Thiaw moves on as much was expected of him when he arrived and continued his development with us, but it’s absolutely vital this summer that Allegri is given the flexibility to mould the squad into his own, to ensure that he can implement his ideas, structure, identity and style of play as effectively as possible.
In turn, if he has assessed Thiaw and believes we can improve in that department, then an exit would make space for a new recruit and strengthen our financial capacity to spend on reinforcements this summer.
