AC Milan could face a key decision on the future of Jan-Carlo Simic, as Anderlecht have reportedly made contact over signing him.
The 19-year-old joined our youth set-up from Stuttgart in 2022, and after impressing for the Primavera side, he has gone on to make six appearances at senior level.

With the launch of Milan Futuro this summer, it’s hoped that it will give our talented youngsters like Simic the playing time at a higher level to gain experience and develop his game, and ultimately make the jump up to the senior side on a consistent basis.
However, it appears as though the Rossoneri could have a decision to make on his future, as Matteo Moretto reports that Anderlecht have made contact as they have identified Simic as a transfer target to strengthen their defence.
Although it won’t make a telling difference for the senior squad if he leaves, it would be disappointing given that the purpose of Milan Futuro is to give our top youth talent a pathway to make the first team and have a long-term future with us.
Selling Simic, who is arguably on the brink of making that step up, would perhaps raise early question marks over the point of the team, but much will depend on the opinion of Paulo Fonseca and the coaching staff as to whether or not he has the potential to go on and impress at the top level.
Further, the financial aspect will also be a factor as we look to balance our books and fund our own spending to bring in more established reinforcements, and so there could be a number of important decisions ahead this summer which will shape how this squad looks come the start of the season.
With a crop of talented players coming through, utilising our youth system could be a priority for Fonseca and the club, but it remains to be seen if Simic will still be a Milan player when the transfer window closes.
