AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of securing the signing of Alessandro Florenzi from Roma with an announcement expected in the coming days.
The Rossoneri saw Diogo Dalot’s loan move from Man Utd come to an end over the summer, with a fresh agreement not being reached which would have allowed him to return for a second season.

With that in mind, there was a void to be filled in the squad to give Stefano Pioli competition and depth on the right flank, both for Davide Calabria and perhaps Alexis Saelemaekers further up the field at times too.
As per Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, a deal has now been agreed between the two clubs, with Florenzi expected in Milan in the next 48 hours to complete his switch.
Further, La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Carlo Laudisa has reported that it will be on an initial loan with an option to buy included in the agreement for around €4.5m, while there could be a loan fee involved too.
Time will tell if the deal now goes through as expected, with the 30-year-old looking to start a new adventure as his time with the Giallorossi comes to an end.
Florenzi made 280 appearances for the capital club after coming through the youth ranks at the Stadio Olimpico, while also enjoying a temporary stint with Paris Saint-Germain last season too.
With the experience that he has gained through 45 caps for Italy as well, he will be a valuable addition to the Milan squad as we look to bring in more quality and stalwarts to help us compete at a high level on multiple fronts.
Calabria will still be expected to be our first-choice at right-back, but Florenzi’s versatility will serve to not only put his fellow Italian under pressure to keep his place in the side, but others too as Milan continue to strengthen the squad with reinforcements before the end of the summer transfer window.
