AC Milan are reportedly closing in on the signing of Emerson Royal from Tottenham, in a deal said to be worth around €14m-15m plus bonuses.
The Rossoneri are seemingly set to ramp up our transfer activity in the coming weeks, having secured the signing of Alvaro Morata to address one our most important issues this summer up front.

However, in order to become more competitive and raise the level of this squad, further reinforcements are certainly needed, and it appears as though we’re now edging closer to securing a number of signatures.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, an agreement between Milan and Tottenham for Emerson is now said to be very close, with the Rossoneri tipped to potentially secure a deal next week worth between €14m and €15m plus bonuses.
Following the injury sustained by Alessandro Florenzi this weekend in our pre-season game against Manchester City, it appears as though Milan are now pushing to strengthen our full-back options with the Italian stalwart expected to be sidelined for some time after suffering a serious knee setback.
In turn, signing Emerson would add competition and pressure on Davide Calabria to keep his spot at right-back, and if Paulo Fonseca is convinced that the Brazilian international is his preferred option to improve us in that department, it’s hoped if a deal is done, it proves to be a sensible acquisition.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs in 2021 and has since gone on to make 101 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing two assists to go with his defensive duties, while he has 10 caps for Brazil and enjoyed an impressive stint at Real Betis previously.
Meanwhile, Di Marzio adds that while we’re now finalising the signing of Strahinja Pavlovic from RB Salzburg, talks continue over landing the signature of Youssouf Fofana from Monaco to bolster our midfield, while Fabrizio Romano suggests that talks are also scheduled with the representatives of Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic.
Whether it’s one or the other, or even both, that would be another major issue addressed as we’re lacking physicality, athleticism and a commanding presence in midfield, and so these two touted targets would tick some of the right boxes to improve us in that department too.
Time will tell who arrives, but in addition to the imminent signing of Pavlovic, if Milan are able to secure both Emerson and one of our priority midfield targets, this summer transfer window will quickly start to look a lot more productive as we try to improve, close the gap on our rivals and give Fonseca the tools required to be a success.
