Priority Milan transfer target touted to add firepower to Allegri’s attack

AC Milan reportedly see Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as a priority transfer target to bolster our attacking options from next season onwards.

With Tammy Abraham returning to Roma after his loan stint with us, the Rossoneri will possibly opt against offering Luka Jovic a new deal with his current contract set to expire this month having managed just four goals in 17 appearances last season.

Further, youngster Francesco Camarda is expected to be loaned out to gain first-team experience and develop his game, and so that would leave Massimiliano Allegri with Santiago Gimenez as his only option to lead the line.

Despite our absence from Europe next season, we’ll still be looking to compete across two fronts domestically, and so it’s hoped that we see more firepower added to our attacking unit to ensure we’ve got the goals in the side to propel us up the Serie A table.

According to Calciomercato, Vlahovic is seen as our top transfer target to address that problem, with Milan making contact with Juventus last week to open up discussions over a potential transfer this summer.

It’s added that the financial aspects of any deal could complicate matters given his likely transfer fee and certainly his high wages, and so it remains to be seen if agreements can be reached on those two fronts to open the door for the arrival of the Serbian international.

It would of course set up a reunion between him and Allegri after their time working together at Juventus and so the Milan boss will be fully aware of what he’s capable of offering, and with 56 goals and 14 assists in 142 appearances for the Turin giants, which followed a prolific stint at Fiorentina, he certainly has the eye for goals that we need to become more competitive.

At 25 years of age, Vlahovic could be an excellent addition for Milan, and so it’s hoped that a deal can be done to prise him away from our league rivals.

It’s added in the report above that Atalanta frontman Mateo Retegui could be an alternative transfer target for Milan after he enjoyed a clinical campaign last season, but with his touted €50m price-tag, that could be more than enough to deter the Rossoneri from making an offer to prise him away from Bergamo.
