Milan set sights on touted target to add firepower to Allegri’s attack

AC Milan are reportedly keen to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer to reunite him with Massimiliano Allegri.

The 25-year-old joined the Turin side from Fiorentina in 2022, and after bagging 49 goals and eight assists in 108 appearances for the Viola, he’s followed that up with 56 goals and 14 assists in 142 outings for the Bianconeri.

In turn, he’s a proven goalscorer in Serie A in particular, and with Milan lacking a prolific option to lead the line who can deliver consistently and fire us up the table, Calciomercato report that the Serbian international has emerged as a top target for us.

With his current contract having just 12 months left to run on it, it’s noted that with a renewal looking unlikely at this stage, he could move on, and Milan are considering a potential swoop for his signature, albeit his wages could be a stumbling block.

Nevertheless, he’s been highlighted as a top candidate by Allegri to bolster his attack ahead of next season, and so it remains to be seen if sporting director Igli Tare is able to get an agreement done, with Andrea Cambiaso also specifically mentioned in the report as being on our shortlist too.

With Tammy Abraham set to return to Roma after his loan expires this summer, that leaves Milan with Santiago Gimenez and Luka Jovic as our options to lead the line next season as things stand.

With doubts over Jovic’s future and with Gimenez facing a vital pre-season this summer to convince Allegri that he can be a crucial option to have at his disposal, it’s no surprise that Milan are being linked with a striker in this transfer window as we lack quality in that department.

Having failed to qualify for Europe, our full focus will be on domestic matters, and so signing a player who has delivered in Serie A over a consistent period of time seems like a very sensible idea. Vlahovic ticks a lot of important boxes in terms of what we need from our frontman to suit the system and way of playing we’ll likely adopt under Allegri, and he’ll know exactly what the Milan boss will be demanding given their time working together previously, so time will tell if a deal can be done with our rivals to strengthen our squad.
