Despite securing Champions League qualification, there are reportedly still doubts over Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma’s futures at AC Milan.
The Rossoneri sealed second place in Serie A after our win over Atalanta on Sunday night, and in turn booked our spot back at Europe’s top table after a seven-year absence.

The expectation would perhaps have been that would be a fundamental factor in keeping our key players, with Donnarumma and Calhanoglu set to see their respective contracts expire this summer.
However, reports suggest that there could still be doubts over whether or not they stay.
Donnarumma exit still touted, Maignan deal ready
As per Calciomercato, an agreement has been reached with Lille to sign Mike Maignan in a deal worth €15m+, while the shot-stopper has green lit a five-year contract worth €3m-a-year.
It’s added that the chances of Donnarumma signing a contract renewal to extend his stay at Milan are ‘incredibly small’, and so if he does opt to leave, Milan are ready to bring in his replacement immediately.
While it’s smart business from the club, ideally they will surely hope that Gigio stays on. Time will tell though if we’ll have a new No.1 option between the posts for the start of next season.
Calhanoglu coy on future
Meanwhile, Calhanoglu didn’t commit on anything with regards to his future when speaking to the media on Monday as he left the door open for a decision later this summer.
“Milan are special for me,” he said, as noted by MilanNews. “After years we are back in the Champions League, I am very happy to have reached this milestone with the team. I do not want to talk about my future, now I am focused on the European Championship. I have not decided yet.”
With time running out on his current deal, that is arguably not what Milan had hoped for as a swift resolution one way or the other as soon as the season finished would arguably be the best outcome.
Instead, it appears as though this could drag on, and in turn it risks delaying our own planning in the event that Calhanoglu moves on.
Brahim Diaz could stay, Mandzukic bids farewell
According to Sky Sport Italia, as reported by MilanNews, the Rossoneri want to keep Diaz for another season on loan, but this time perhaps with an option to buy included in any agreement.
However, Real Madrid would like to raise funds now but will wait on the appointment of a possible new coach this summer before making any decision on the Spaniard’s future.
One player who is certainly on his way out of Milan this summer though is Mario Mandzukic, as the Croatian stalwart confirmed his exit in his Instagram post below with his short-term deal coming to an end and Milan seemingly ready to move on and look elsewhere to bolster our attacking options.
