AC Milan are reportedly still working on reaching an agreement to sign midfielder Daichi Kamada on a free transfer this summer.
The 26-year-old is set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt when his current contract expires at the end of the month, and it comes off the back of a strong showing this past season where he scored 16 goals and provided seven assists 47 appearances across all competitions.

With 28 caps and six goals for Japan to his name too, Kamada would potentially be a solid addition to the Milan squad, and particularly given he’s available on a free transfer, it would also represent smart business.
Doubts had been raised though after the departures of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara as to whether or not we would still pursue a deal with him, as the new management structure and personnel may have different ideas on how to strengthen the squad this summer.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Milan are still working on a deal and although nothing has been finalised yet, it sounds as though we’re still keen to bring Kamada in, and so time will tell if it’s a deal that we can get over the line in the coming days or weeks.
Based on our performances last season, adding technical quality, creativity and a goal threat from midfield will be key this summer, as we were short in all those areas with the options we currently have at Stefano Pioli’s disposal.
Further, with Brahim Diaz moving on and the possibility of further exits, Milan must upgrade that department of the squad if we wish to be a more dynamic and consistent attacking threat to the opposition.
It remains to be seen if Kamada arrives and if that is one of multiple signings to bolster our midfield and attacking options, as after such a tumultuous start to the summer with the upheaval at management level, there is still a lot of uncertainty hovering over the club.
