AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement on a new contract with talented young midfielder Christian Comotto to secure his long-term future.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the top prospects at the club, having featured regularly at youth level to showcase his talent and potential.
Following the appointment of Ruben Amorim earlier this summer, there appears to be a shift taking place at the club as the Rossoneri could start to bring young players through and give them opportunities to be part of the first-team squad, and the club have certainly shown their belief and faith in Comotto.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the youngster has signed a new five-year contract to keep him at Milan until June 2031, and he adds that the midfielder is seen as an important part of the club’s project moving forward.
In the more immediate future, it’s hoped that Comotto is given minutes in pre-season to try and impress Amorim, as if he is able to stake a claim, it could impact our plans in the transfer market as the Portuguese tactician continues to mould the squad into his own.
It remains to be seen if that is indeed the path chosen for Comotto or perhaps a loan to play regularly and gain experience could still be on the table for this season, but it’s good to see Milan show more of a desire to give homegrown youth a chance as we’ve not done it enough in a long time.
Francesco Camarda is being tipped to be in a similar position under Amorim, and it was also shown in our pursuit of Mattia Liberali and our attempt to bring him back to the club, which ultimately failed.
Nevertheless, if we can strike the right balance with more experienced players, it will hopefully give us the squad needed to compete both in the short term and long term, and Comotto seems to be a key piece in that plan.
