However, it appears as though Milan’s work won’t be finished there in terms of trying to continue to strengthen the squad, as there are two more signings expected in the coming days.
As per Sky Sport Italia, Milan are pushing to reach an agreement with Chelsea for Bakayoko on the basis of a loan move with an option to buy included in the deal.
It’s added that the midfielder is edging closer to a return to San Siro after his previous loan stint with us three seasons ago, and so time will tell if the switch is wrapped up in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia also report that Milan have reached an agreement on personal terms with Pellegri, and now they are moving forward in discussions with Monaco to strike a deal for the 20-year-old.
It’s suggested that it would be a familiar formula for Milan, in that it would be a paid loan initially with an option to buy included in the agreement, albeit it could become an obligation if certain conditions are met.
Time will tell if Milan are able to complete the double signing of Bakayoko and Pellegri in the next couple of weeks, and whether or not that would signal the end of our business or if there is still more to come.
There are arguably still gaps in the squad that need to be addressed, but bit by bit, Stefano Pioli is adding reinforcements as we look to build on last season and compete for silverware both at home and in Europe.
