New offer submitted as Milan step up pursuit of top transfer target

AC Milan have reportedly submitted a fresh offer to Club Brugge in our pursuit of midfielder Ardon Jashari.

The 22-year-old has impressed for the Belgian outfit, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 52 appearances across all competitions last season to go with his overall influence in their midfield as a key defensive presence.

His club form has earned him four caps for Switzerland thus far too, and with a big career ahead of him still, it looks as though he has a bright future if he can continue to develop and improve his game.

That form and the quality he has shown have seemingly attracted Milan’s interest, as Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri have now made a fresh offer to Club Brugge in our attempt to prise Jashari away, and it’s said to be worth €30m up front, with no structure of add-ons included.

It’s added that the Swiss international is keen on the move, and so it remains to be seen if the latest touted proposal is enough to secure an agreement between the clubs to push the deal through.

Milan have a glaring void to fill in our midfield this summer after Tijjani Reijnders departed earlier his month, and with speculation suggesting that there could be further exits ahead, Massimiliano Allegri’s rebuild will seemingly revolve around getting our midfield up to a higher standard and being adapted to the characteristics and versatility that will suit his preferred system and style of play.

It will be interesting to see just how active Milan are in that department though, as with Di Marzio noting in the report above that we’ve also been paired with an interest in Granit Xhaka and Samuele Ricci, there will surely be a priority list and time will tell if Jashari is at the top of it or not.

Should the figure touted above be accurate, that is a significant fee to pay for Jashari, and so evidently Milan’s management and Allegri are all convinced that the Swiss midfielder would offer an important solution, and in that case, it’s hoped that we can wrap up a deal to bring him to San Siro sooner rather than later.

That said, perhaps if negotiations drag on or if Brugge’s demands are too steep, we’ll be ready to move immediately for an alternative option, with a deal said to already be in place to land Luka Modric’s signing this summer.
