Talented young duo on Milan transfer radar to strengthen key area

AC Milan are reportedly interested in Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari and Valencia’s Javi Guerra as a potential reinforcement in that area of the squad.

With Tijjani Reijnders departing this week to join Manchester City and ongoing speculation of further exits including that of Yunus Musah, there will be voids to fill in our midfield ahead of next season.

Massimiliano Allegri will undoubtedly be targeting certain profiles to allow him to mould the squad into his own and implement his own ideas and style of play, and it appears as though specific names are emerging as potential solutions.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are setting their sights on Jashari and Guerra, although it’s suggested that the former could be too expensive and that will be problematic in possible negotiations with Club Brugge.

Daniele Longo had reported earlier on Friday that the Belgian outfit value the 22-year-old at €35m while Milan are offering €27m, and so time will tell if that gap can be bridged, or if the Rossoneri are forced to walk away and consider alternative options, one of which could be Guerra.

Jashari impressed last season with four goals and six assists in 52 appearances along with his overall influence on the team from his midfield role, while he’s been capped four times by Switzerland.

As for Guerra, the 22-year-old played an important role for Valencia last season as he featured 38 times and established himself as a fundamental figure in their midfield, and so it will be fascinating to see who emerges as the priority target of the two, and whether or not a deal can be reached between the clubs.

With many changes expected to the Milan squad this summer with Allegri stamping his mark on the group after what was a bitterly disappointing campaign last year, reinforcements are certainly needed, but our recruitment has to be spot on this time round after previous signings haven’t proven to be good enough and have contributed to our decline.
