Milan increase offer for top transfer target as pursuit rumbles on

AC Milan have reportedly submitted an improved offer for Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari.

The Rossoneri have made the 22-year-old a priority transfer target this summer it seems, as speculation has been consistent over our pursuit for weeks.

Having been unsuccessful up until this point though in our attempt to convince the Belgian outfit to sell, Antonio Vitiello reports that a new offer has now been made worth an initial €32m, with bonuses taking the total package up to around €38m.

It’s added that the Swiss international has already agreed on personal terms and has prioritised a move to Milan, but it remains to be seen if this latest offer will be enough to convince his current club to allow him to leave.

Massimiliano Allegri has seemingly made rebuilding his midfield a top priority this summer, as after the departure of Tijjani Reijnders last month, transfer rumours have been strongly focused on potential targets to address that glaring void.

While a deal is said to be in place to sign Luka Modric later this month, an announcement is expected for the signing Samuele Ricci from Torino later this week, but Milan continue to pursue Jashari on top of that.

In turn, our midfield is set to look very different ahead of next season it seems, with those who were out on loan last season unlikely to get a second chance under Allegri, as he moves in a different direction and brings in his preferred options to suit his style of play and ideas moving forward.

Time will tell if this offer will be enough for Brugge, but if it’s not, it’s unclear if Milan are prepared to go even higher, or if they’ll switch their focus elsewhere.

What is clear at this stage though given that we continue to return with improved offers is that Jashari is evidently seen as an ideal fit for what we’re building and can offer a long-term solution, and so if we do eventually land his signature, there will be a lot of pressure on him to prove he was a sensible signing worth the significant fee.
