Agent of Milan ace attends meeting with club to discuss future

The agent of AC Milan midfielder Ardon Jashari is at Casa Milan on Thursday as there will reportedly be a meeting to discuss his future at the club.

Milan signed the 23-year-old from Club Brugge last summer in a deal worth around €39m, as per Fabrizio Romano, with the Rossoneri pursuing their priority target for some time before eventually reaching an agreement.

However, he was limited to just 17 appearances last season after he suffered a serious injury early in the campaign, and ultimately he struggled to establish himself in the starting line-up thereafter.

Having made a coaching change this summer with Ruben Amorim arriving as Massimiliano Allegri’s successor, it remains to be seen who forms part of the Portuguese tactician’s future plans or not, and so meetings will no doubt take place in the coming weeks and months with various players and agents.

As per Antonio Vitiello, Jashari’s agent was at Casa Milan on Thursday to hold talks with the Milan management team to discuss his client’s future, and so it remains to be seen if they are productive talks to confirm that he will be part of the squad next season or if Milan are perhaps open to him finding a new challenge elsewhere.

With major question marks over the ownership and hierarchy’s decisions in recent times and our recruitment, it’s imperative that Milan start this new cycle with Amorim at the helm with an alignment on the ideas, identity and style of play that they wish to implement.

In turn, players who suit those key factors must be prioritised, and so if Jashari doesn’t fit in with that plan, then time will tell if he’s made available on the market, and perhaps more importantly if so, whether or not he has interest from other clubs given his lack of playing time last year and if any offers are deemed acceptable.

The expectation is that there will be many incomings and outgoings in this transfer window, and so it’s likely to be a busy period for all concerned as Milan try to build a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.
