Terms agreed for fresh exit for Milan loanee but key hurdle remains

AC Milan have reportedly agreed all terms for Alvaro Morata to join Como, but Galatasaray remain a potential stumbling block to the deal going through.

The 32-year-old’s spell with the Rossoneri ultimately didn’t go as desired, as after a brief time with us during a turbulent campaign last season, he joined Galatasaray in loan in the January transfer window and went on to enjoy a productive few months with the Turkish giants.

While that loan agreement runs until January 2026, speculation has been rife that Como could be advancing in talks to try to prise Morata away, and as per Fabrizio Romano, terms are now agreed between the two Serie A sides and Como have also reached an agreement on personal terms with the Spaniard.

However, there is still a key hurdle to overcome before the deal can go through, as Galatasaray have yet to give their approval to allow Morata to terminate his loan deal with them early, and so it remains to be seen if they are willing to allow that to happen or not.

Galatasaray will surely prefer not to keep players at the club who want to be elsewhere, and so the expectation is that a compromise will be reached to allow the move to happen, but it’s unclear at this stage if either Milan or Como must provide something in return to convince them to cut short the initial loan spell.

What is clear though is that Morata has no role to play at Milan despite Massimiliano Allegri’s appointment this summer, as none of the reports over his future this summer have suggested that the Rossoneri are open to recalling him and reintegrating him back into our squad under his former boss.

We’re certainly in need of more firepower this summer though with only Santiago Gimenez available to lead the line as things stand, but if it’s not going to be Morata, it will be fascinating to see who emerges as our priority target to address that issue.

It’s an important summer for the club with so many changes being touted as Allegri rebuilds the squad into his own with sporting director Igli Tare leading the recruitment charge, and it’s hoped that by the time the transfer window is over and the new season begins, we have a much stronger squad available compared to the one that we started the summer with.
