Personal terms agreed as Milan loanee seeks fresh exit but key decision needed

AC Milan loanee Alvaro Morata has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Como as he looks to end his stint at Galatasaray early.

The 32-year-old joined us in July last year, but was sent out on loan to the Turkish giants in the January transfer window after just months at the club as part of a turbulent campaign last season.

Having bagged seven goals and three assists in 16 appearances with Galatasaray and his loan deal running until January next year, the sense was that the Spaniard would look to continue to enjoy a successful stint with them.

However, a return to Serie A is seemingly his preference and priority, as Fabrizio Romano reports that Morata has agreed on personal terms with Como as he looks ahead to working with Cesc Fabregas and joining their exciting project.

That said, the deal is not yet secured, as Romano adds that Galatasaray must agree to terminating his loan early, and so talks are ongoing between them and Milan to try and find a solution.

What is clear at this stage is that Morata doesn’t have a future with us, even with the possibility of a reunion with Massimiliano Allegri being on the table as the Italian tactician continues to build his own squad this summer.

In turn, it comes down to whether or not Galatasaray are willing to free him from his loan deal six months early or not, and what potential compensation they might receive to convince them to give it the green light.

That makes it a complicated situation for now, and time will tell if a compromise can be reached between the clubs to allow for Morata’s preference of playing for Como to materialise.

Milan are certainly in need of adding firepower this summer to add competition for places and depth alongside Santiago Gimenez up front, but based on the reporting above, it doesn’t sound as though it will be Morata who provides us with that, and further, we could be lining up against him next season depending on the terms of his loan with Como, if the deal goes through.
