AC Milan are reportedly set to make a formal proposal to RB Salzburg for Strahinja Pavlovic, but the two clubs are still some way off an agreement.
The 23-year-old has established himself as a key figure for both club and country, making over 70 appearances for Salzburg since joining them in 2022, while he has been capped 38 times for Serbia.

According to Matteo Moretto, Milan are set to make an offer to try and prise him away, but talks are still needed as they remain a significant distance off on their respective valuations. He notes the Rossoneri are ready to offer €18m, while Salzburg are demanding around €25m, while personal terms have already been agreed.
In turn, it remains to be seen if a compromise can be reached between the two clubs to find an agreement, but with Atletico Madrid said to be interested in Pavlovic too, it’s hoped that Milan aren’t ultimately priced out of a move and subsequently are forced to look at alternative options.
What is clear at this stage is that Milan must strengthen our defence this summer, having conceded 49 goals in 38 Serie A games last season, giving us the worst defensive record of the top 11 sides in the table.
That is simply not good enough if we are to close the gap on Inter and compete with our other rivals to challenge for major honours, and so it’s hoped that if Pavlovic does arrive, he’s able to help shore up the backline and make us harder to break down.
Milan secured the signing of Alvaro Morata this week to bolster our attacking options, and so that is one fundamental position addressed, albeit there is still the need to add depth behind him.
However, with our midfield and defence still requiring attention, and as we prepare for the next leg of our pre-season preparations, it’s hoped that we can get deals done sooner rather than later to give Paulo Fonseca as much time as possible to work with our new signings and integrate them into the side ahead of the new campaign.
