AC Milan have confirmed that talented youngster Kevin Zeroli has joined Monza on loan for the upcoming season.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of our top young talents having worked his way up through our youth ranks in recent years, while he’s made five appearances at senior level too.

At this stage of his career though, he needs regular playing time at a high level to continue to improve and develop his all-round game, and he looks set to do that by rejoining Monza after spending the second half of last season with them.
As per the club’s statement, Zeroli has made the loan switch until next June, and it’s hoped that he can build on last season and establish himself in a key role to ensure it’s a productive campaign.
Time will tell if it ultimately sets the foundation for a breakthrough under Massimiliano Allegri at Milan in the longer-term future, but it certainly would be refreshing to see one of our youth products make that jump up and become a key part of the first-team squad.
Chances for young homegrown talent have arguably been quite limited for some time now, and so if Zeroli is deemed good enough, coupled with others pushing to make a breakthrough too including Francesco Camarda, it will hopefully give Allegri an important balance moving forward, while also saving us money in the transfer market by not having to buy players in those positions.
Naturally though, it could be seen the other way in that our talented youth players are potential financial boosts if they move on for decent fees, but it’s certainly hoped that Zeroli is different and he can indeed go on to become a key figure in Milan’s midfield beyond next season.
For now though, his sole focus will be on making the most of this fresh opportunity to impress and showcase his ability at a high level, and a positive loan stint will undoubtedly be a good thing for all concerned.
