Ahead of Milan’s clash with Sampdoria on Saturday, Stefano Pioli has received a fitness boost as Ante Rebic has resumed training with the rest of the group.
The Rossoneri resume the Serie A campaign this weekend following the international break looking to continue to apply pressure on city rivals Inter at the top of the table, while also maintaining their lead over the chasing pack for a top-four finish.
In turn, Pioli will be eager to have as close to a fully-fit squad at his disposal as possible, and it appears as though Rebic could be on his way to featuring on Saturday.
According to Sky Sport Italia, as noted by MilanNews, the Croatian international trained with the rest of the group at Milanello on Wednesday, thus suggesting that he could be at Pioli’s disposal against the Blucerchiati.
Milan successfully appealed against his suspension over the break and so it remains to be seen whether or not injury may yet rule the 27-year-old out.
Rebic has been a key figure for Milan so far this season, albeit inconsistent, as he has contributed five goals and eight assists in 24 appearances.
With just 10 games remaining this season, Pioli will hope that he has a complete selection of players from which to choose from, with just a six-point cushion over fifth-placed Napoli as the battle for Champions League qualification will resume this weekend.
