Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie continue their respective recoveries from injury as AC Milan await their return to action.
The Rossoneri begin the Serie A campaign at Sampdoria on Monday night, as we look to get off to a positive start in what is a big season for us as we look to build on our second-place finish last year.

In order to have the best possible chance of improving on that and challenging for silverware, Stefano Pioli will hope to have as close to a fully fit squad at his disposal as possible throughout the campaign.
That won’t be the case for our season opener though with both Ibrahimovic and Kessie recovering from injury blows still, but there were positive updates on their respective conditions this week.
As per MilanNews, Ibrahimovic is doing personalised work as he steps up his comeback with the hope being that he can rejoin the rest of the group out on the training pitches sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, Kessie received further treatment on Wednesday and did work in the gym as he is seemingly behind his teammate in the recovery process and could miss a few of the first games of the season.
Being without two such influential individuals for any period of time is a setback for Milan and Pioli, but as long as they can come through unscathed in the coming weeks and perhaps target a return either before or immediately after the international break, it will be good news for the Rossoneri.
Olivier Giroud’s form in pre-season will hopefully continue into the competitive action to help us avoid missing Ibrahimovic’s presence up top too much, while in Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer, Pioli still has two quality options available to form our midfield.
