AC Milan have confirmed that Davide Calabria underwent an operation for a sports hernia this week and that the procedure was a complete success.
The 24-year-old was a regular for the Rossoneri this past season, making 39 appearances across all competitions and contributed two goals and two assists in addition to his defensive duties.

It appears as though he is now cementing his place as the first-choice right-back at the club, and he’ll hope to get a good pre-season under his belt later this summer before enjoying another successful campaign in 2021/22.
However, he has seemingly taken care of an issue just days after the previous season ended, with Milan confirming in an official statement that Calabria underwent a successful procedure on a sports hernia.
It’s added that it went entirely to plan, and that the Italian international will now hope to be fully recovered in around six weeks time.
Given the heavy workload in the back-to-back seasons where there was a limited break following the coronavirus pandemic, Calabria will no doubt be looking forward to resting up and letting the injury heal, before continuing to work hard and establishing himself as a fundamental figure in Stefano Pioli’s side moving forward.
