Positive update as influential Milan figure expected to be available vs Juventus

AC Milan are seemingly set to receive good news on the injury front with Christian Pulisic expected to be available to face Juventus.

The Rossoneri take on Juve in the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia on Friday, in what will be Sergio Conceicao’s first game in charge having replaced Paulo Fonseca earlier this week.

Given the lack of time he’s had with the squad, it’s hoped that he’s at least been able to get his basic ideas and principles across to the players, and it would have been important for him to have as many of them available as possible.

As per MilanNews, Pulisic took part in group training again on Wednesday, and he is now considered recovered from his injury and will be available for selection against the Bianconeri.

However, it’s less clear at this stage as to whether Rafael Leao, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah will be involved, as although the former continued with personalised work having travelled with the squad, it remains to be seen if any, or all three, have sufficiently recovered in time to feature this week.

Even if they haven’t, it’s an important boost in itself that they are pushing to make the bench at least, as that would suggest that they should be at Conceicao’s disposal when we face Cagliari in our Serie A encounter on January 11.

Getting Pulisic back is a major boost though, given the 26-year-old has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 20 appearances so far this season, and has firmly established himself as a key figure in the side.

Having missed our last four games due to a calf issue, he’ll undoubtedly be itching to get back out on the pitch, and it’s a crucial time for him to return as he’ll also be looking to make a positive first impression on Conceicao to ensure he continues to play a big role for Milan moving forward.
