AC Milan have officially announced the signing of defender Mario Gila from Lazio in a deal reportedly worth €30m.
The 25-year-old has established himself as a key figure for our Serie A rivals since joining them from Real Madrid in 2022, and evidently his form has attracted interest from our club hierarchy and new boss Ruben Amorim.
Following the signing of Goncalo Ramos to add more firepower to the team and bolster our attacking options, the Rossoneri have now moved to shore things up at the back with the arrival of Gila.

As per the club’s statement, the Spaniard has now officially joined from Lazio, and he has put pen to paper on a contract that will run until June 2031. Further, Milan have confirmed that Gila will wear the No.34 shirt.
Milan have moved quickly to bring in reinforcements this summer, with Ramos and Gila arriving to now hopefully go on to establish themselves as vital pieces in Amorim’s plans for the team.
The Portuguese tactician will look to implement his preferred system and style of play in the coming weeks during pre-season, and so our two new arrivals will no doubt be seen as ideal fits for that to ensure that both they and the team flourish and we become more competitive as a collective.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan have signed Gila in a deal worth €30m, and so it’s another important investment from our ownership, and hopefully it proves to be a smart acquisition moving forward with the Spanish defender showing excellent defensive qualities as well as the ability to play out from the back during his time in Italy.
Milan begin our pre-season schedule in just over a fortnight against Celtic on July 25, and so it’s hoped that we see Gila at Milanello in the coming days along with the rest of the squad and he can now begin his settling in and adaptation process ahead of what will hopefully be a successful career with the Rossoneri.
