Talented young Milan duo pen contract extensions to commit futures

AC Milan have confirmed talented young duo Davide Bartesaghi and Lorenzo Torriani have signed contract extensions until 2030.

It promises to be a busy summer for the Rossoneri as there are big decisions ahead for the club at every level, but it appears as though they’re making a start on sorting key issues out.

As per the club’s official post, Bartesaghi and Torriani have both put pen to paper on contract extensions that will keep them at Milan until 2030, and it’s hoped that the pair have bright futures ahead of them in the senior squad.

Bartesaghi, 19, has come through the youth ranks at Milan and while he’s made 14 appearances at senior level, he continues to make a positive impression for Milan Futuro, which in turn has likely convinced the club to secure his long-term future with the hope that he can enjoy a more sustained breakthrough moving forward.

Meanwhile, Torriani, 20, is another product of our Youth Academy, and although he’s had a more limited look at senior football having made just two appearances with the first-team squad, he has also impressed at youth level to suggest that he has a promising career ahead of him.

The club evidently believe in their talent and potential, hence the decision to offer them new deals, and while there are big question marks over the how the squad will be constructed moving forward off the back of a hugely underwhelming season which has left us without European football, time will tell if they get opportunities in the first-team next season.

It’s certainly hoped that they do get a chance to stake their claim over pre-season at least before a decision is taken on their respective futures, and while Milan are undoubtedly in need of adding more quality to the group, be it for Sergio Conceicao or a successor, it’s important that we continue to integrate our own talent and find a balance too, provided that they prove to be worthy of getting those chances.
