Allegri eyes potential double swoop to bolster key area of Milan squad

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly an admirer of Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi and Marseille ace Adrien Rabiot.

Our midfield is shaping up to be a priority area to address this summer, as with Tijjani Reijnders heading to Manchester City and Yunus Musah closing in on a move to Napoli, it will leave significant voids that must be filled ahead of next season.

The fees from those two potential departures will hopefully give us financial strength and flexibility to pursue Allegri’s top targets, and speculation continues to link countless individuals with a switch to join the Rossoneri.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Allegri likes Bouaddi and Milan could swoop for the talented 17-year-old who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Lille this past season.

The midfield starlet made 36 appearances for the senior side and is already capped at U21s level for France, and so the indications thus far are certainly positive about his potential to have a really bright future.

In turn, this could be a really intriguing signing to provide us with a long-term solution in that area of the squad, and so time will tell if Milan step up their pursuit of the talented teenager.

Meanwhile, Di Marzio also reports that Allegri is pushing to be reunited with Rabiot as the 30-year-old could seemingly play a vital role for us, but it’s noted that the French midfielder hasn’t expressed a desire to leave Marseille and so it could be difficult to prise him away from the Ligue 1 outfit.

Time will tell if the arrival of Allegri at Milan and his ability to persuade him will have any influence on his final decision, as after contributing 10 goals and six assists in 31 appearances last season to go with his experience at the top level, Rabiot could certainly be a useful addition to this squad.

It promises to be a fascinating summer to see how the Milan squad evolves, and with Allegri looking to put in place a strong foundation on which we can build future success, signing established players like Rabiot and Luka Modric who we’ve also been heavily linked with, could be the smart strategy at this stage in our rebuild.
