AC Milan have reportedly made an enquiry over a potential free transfer swoop to sign midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer.
As things stand, the 29-year-old French midfielder is set to see his current contract with Juventus expire at the end of June, thus opening up the possibility of him becoming a free agent.

Having made 212 appearances for the Bianconeri after his stint at Paris Saint-Germain, coupled with 42 caps for France, he’s an experienced option with technical quality to add competition and depth to our midfield.
According to Antonio Vitiello, Milan have enquired about his situation in order to ascertain whether or not a move is a realistic option in terms of his wage demands.
Time will tell if that in turn leads to him becoming a priority transfer target in the coming weeks, but ultimately it remains to be seen firstly if Rabiot and Juventus agree on new terms to extend his stay in Turin.
Milan struggled in midfield last season, as we lacked the balance, presence and quality to consistently control games both with possession and tempo, and that in turn led to frustrating performances and results.
In turn, it’s an area in which we’ll hopefully see reinforcements arrive this summer, be it Rabiot or an alternative option, as it will hopefully help us play with more rhythm and fluidity after a disappointing and underwhelming campaign last year.
Rabiot would of course be able to immediately slot in given his experience in Serie A, but at 29 years of age and with the club’s strategy in more recent times seemingly aimed more so at signing a young profile of player, time will tell if the enquiry leads to something more tangible in the shape of a formal proposal to his representatives.
That said, a swoop on a free transfer could be an astute move, allowing us to target another option as we await confirmation on Stefano Pioli’s successor, who is hopefully having a big say in our transfer dealings this month to ensure he has a squad that fits his ideas and style.
