Double exit still progressing as Milan continue to clear space in rebuild

AC Milan are reportedly still progressing with plans to sell both Alvaro Morata and Malick Thiaw this summer.

The Rossoneri are undergoing a rebuild with Massimiliano Allegri given the opportunity to mould the squad into his own ahead of his first season back at the helm.

That in turn has led to heavy speculation of multiple incomings and outgoings, with a change in midfield the only official news thus far with Samuele Ricci arriving following the exit of Tijjani Reijnders.

More is expected in that department and across the rest of the squad, and there could be more exits imminently in order to not only make space in the squad for new arrivals, but also to raise further transfer funds.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Morata is closing in on a move to Como, said to be a permanent switch worth around €10m.

It’s noted that an agreement is almost in place between the player and our Serie A rivals, with a compromise needing to be reached with Galatasaray to cut his loan spell short, but it certainly sounds positive in this report that the pieces will fall into place for his latest move to go through.

Meanwhile, that’s not the only deal we could do with Como this month, as Di Marzio also reports they are continuing their efforts to try and convince Thiaw to join them, who to this point, has been unsure over the move.

It’s added that there is interest from England in the centre-half as well, and so he could have options this summer as it seemingly looks likely that he will depart for a new challenge elsewhere ahead of next season regardless of the potential destination.

Como will no doubt continue to push, with Fabrizio Romano noting that the German defender is expected to make a decision next week, with Milan tipped to earn around €25m if he gives the green light to join Como.

Should both deals get done, that is a significant boost for Milan to not only balance our books with more signings expected, but also to continue to fund our transfer strategy by reinvesting the fees back into the squad to strengthen the group ahead of next season and Allegri’s tenure as a whole.
