Milan continue to prioritise crucial area as part of Allegri rebuild as third target eyed

AC Milan are reportedly planning to continue their pursuit of Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari despite other touted incomings.

The Rossoneri are set to be highly active in the summer transfer window, as Massimiliano Allegri works with sporting director Igli Tare on rebuilding the squad to suit his ideas and identity.

While we’ve already seen Tijjani Reijnders depart, a string of loanees return to their parent clubs and with further exits expected to make space in the squad and balance our spending, Milan are seemingly intent on bolstering our midfield.

As per Antonio Vitiello, despite having deals in place to sign Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci, the club are expected to raise their offer for Jashari, as they continue to try and prise him away from Brugge with the belief that he’s an ideal reinforcement.

That in turn would suggest that they expect more midfielders to leave this summer, but there is certainly an excitement around the transformation we might see in that area of the pitch next season.

Jashari, 22, made 52 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing six assists to go with his overall influence in midfield, while he’s earned four caps for Switzerland too.

Evidently, he’s impressed the Milan recruitment team to ensure that we are continuing our pursuit despite being knocked back previously and having secured agreements for other targets, and so time will tell if we eventually get our top man.

Allegri is certainly light in that department as things stand with Warren Bondo, Youssouf Fofana, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah at his disposal to play in central midfielder, while speculation has linked Musah with an exit this summer too.

In turn, it’s no real surprise then that Milan are focusing on midfield as a top priority to begin the transfer window, and if we are able to add Jashari to the mix, that will hopefully give us plenty of time in the reminder of the summer to strengthen other areas of the squad with several more signings still expected as part of this intriguing and exciting rebuild after what was a bitterly disappointing campaign last year.
