AC Milan will reportedly restart contract renewal talks with Mike Maignan in a bid to secure his future at the club.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper joined us from Lille in 2021, and has since gone on to make 163 appearances for the club to establish himself as a fundamental figure in the side.

Injuries and dips in form at times have raised question marks over his standing as our first-choice option between the posts in the long run, but the more pressing issue is that his current contract runs until June 2026.
With just 12 months remaining on that deal, securing his future is high on the to-do list, regardless of whether the intention is to keep him longer term, or to potentially move him on for a fair valuation and to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing next year.
As reported by MilanNews, sporting director Igli Tare and boss Massimiliano Allegri regard him as an important part of their plans for the squad, and so the intention from the club is seemingly to resume contract talks and lock the Frenchman in for our new cycle.
Amid all the changes this summer and possible high-profile exits being touted, Milan will need some sense of continuity and consistency in the starting line-up, and keeping the French international could be an important decision as he’s capable of being a leading figure in the side and setting the standard for others.
Naturally, that will depend on his ability to stay healthy and produce at a high level on a consistent basis, but he’s shown time and time again that he’s more than capable of being decisive for us when needed.
Time will tell if an agreement can be reached between the two parties though as Milan are said to have put talks on hold despite a verbal agreement being reached earlier this year, and so it remains to be seen if similar terms will be on the table or if they will be adjusted, and subsequently if it still works for both sides.
